ジャパンとよばれる漆器は日本を代表する工芸品として、高い評価をうけてきました。なかでも縄文時代前期（約5000年前）から現代にいたるまで、脈々とその伝統を受け継いできたところが半島能登であり、輪島塗です。
Lacquerware called Japan has received high praise as a representative craft of Japan.Wajima-nuri on the Noto Peninsula has inherited that tradition from the early Jomon period (about 5,000 years ago) to the present.
